Restorative Yoga

What is Restorative Yoga?
Restorative yoga is a gentle, therapeutic style of yoga that uses props such as bolsters, pillows, blocks and blankets to support you in holding poses for a longer period of time. When we hold poses, it allows our bodies to open through passive stretching.

During this practice, you’ll place your body in gentle, fully supported poses. The use of props provides a completely supportive environment for total relaxation. This practice promotes deep release in connective tissue, nourishes the natural range of motion of the joints, and calms the nervous system.

Restorative yoga is a truly beautiful meditative practice for the body and mind.

Many health benefits have been connected with restorative yoga, including:

  • eliminating stress and fatigue to allow deep relaxation

  • improved digestion and sleep

  • increased flexibility, range of motion, and improved body alignment

  • increased fertility

  • improved mood

  • increased energy and circulation

  • reduced aches and pains

This class is suitable for all levels, including those who are new to yoga.

Integral Hatha Yoga

What is Integral Hatha yoga?
Integral yoga is a gentle yoga practice that includes breathing exercises, chanting, asanas (poses) and meditation. This practice is called “Integral” because it integrates the mind, body and spirit.

Benefits of Integral yoga class: Regular practice of Integral yoga will keep you feeling calm, peaceful and flexible.

This class is suitable for all levels, including those who are new to yoga.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga has its roots in China, unlike the more popular and active yoga practices, that originated in India. It was founded on the Taoist theory of yin and yang – opposite concepts that, together, represent balance.

There are around 20 classic poses (plus its variations) in Yin yoga. Yin postures are primarily passive in nature and mostly performed while seated or in a reclining position. Yin poses are held anywhere from two minutes to five minutes (or even more) in order to target the body’s connective tissues, joints, and fascia rather than muscles.

Yin/Yang Yoga

This class combines Yin (stillness) and Yang (movement) elements in one class. The Yin part of the class is quiet, deep and still, supporting the health of the connective tissues and flow of qi (energy) in the body. The Yang part of the class is gentle flow, supporting blood flow, building strength, balance, flexibility and stamina.

This class is suitable for all levels, including those who are new to yoga.
